Day 1: Entebbe
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred for overnight in BB to the hotel, at Cassia Lodge –2Friends Guest House. BB
Day 2: Entebbe – Lake Mburo
Breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, a small national park found in the central region of Uganda, the Ankole. This is the perfect way to kick start your Ugandan adventure. After lunch, go for game drive in search for the beautiful impalas, elands, topi and many antelopes, buffaloes, zebras. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge – Mantana Mburo Tented Camp / Mburo Safari Lodge – Arcadia Cottages Mburo. Full Board
Day 3: Mburo- mburo
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive impalas, elands, topi and many antelopes, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and with luck, you might as well spot a leopard after which you will return to your hotel for a little relaxation as you wait for the time for lunch. After lunch, we will head to the lake where we will take a boat ride on Lake Mburo and enjoy wild life like Hippos, different bird species and later on return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Mburo – Bwindi
After breakfast, we will drive southwards to Bwindi National Park. Lunch en route and later proceed to our hotel while enjoying the typical acacia savannah and the terraced hills, where the people rear the Ankole cattle with long horns. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Engagi Lodge– Bwindi Jungle Lodge/ Broadbill Lodge – Bakiga Lodge. Full Board
Day 5: Bwindi-Bwindi
After breakfast proceed to the park and have a briefing from the guides of Uganda Wildlife Authority, set off for the gorilla tracking in the forest sanctuary. The activity starts at 8.00am and you join the other members according to the distribution of the gorilla families, only eight per family each day. You need to carry with you the packed lunch, enough drinking water, rain jacket in case of rain and trekking boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. If you are not sure of your fitness you might hire a porter and pay him a tip to help you carrying the bag. It is unpredictable how long will take to find the primates as they freely move into the forest. The encounter with the gorillas, lasts for about one hour, certainly is a rewarding experience and an unforgettable one. Day 6: Bwindi- Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, leave Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and proceed to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha, and a vast savannah between the rivers Ishasha and Ntungwe. After lunch, take a game drive in search for the “tree climbing lions” which are seen during the hot hours of the day, as they lie resting on top of Figs trees. See also herds of buffaloes, elephants, topi antelopes and more. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha Jungle Lodge (supplement for Enjojo Lodge (C) or Savannah Resort (E). Full Board
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha – Kasenyi)
After an early breakfast, we will go for a morning game drive for a second chance to see the tree climbing lions amongst other animals like elephants, buffaloes, hippos among others plus a wide variety of bird species and there after proceed to the northern sector of queen Elizabeth National park. Lunch. in the afternoon go for boat ride on the kazinga channel, a natural canal that connects Lake Edward with Lake George where we will enjoy a wide variety of game as the animals come down to quench their thirst and also cool off from the violent heat. We will see a wide variety of bird species both native and migrant birds from Europe. dinner and overnight Kasenyi Safari Lodge – Mweya Safari Lodge (C) / Park View Lodge / Enganzi Lodge (E). Day 8: Queen Elizabeth – Hoima
After breakfast, we will drive northwards through the kingdom of Tooro, we will pass through Fort Portal where we will appreciate the tea plantations within the region and the beautiful scenery that comes with them, we shall head through Kyenjojo. Lunch en route and thereafter head to the city of Hoima. After checking into our hotel, we will have an option of a city walk and visit the local market and appreciate the culture and way of life if the Banyoro people and there after return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hoima Cultural Lodge.Full Board
Day 9: Hoima – Murchison Falls
After breakfast, we travel to Murchison Falls National Park, the biggest park in Uganda with a wide variety of animals and bird’s species, we will stop at Budongo Forest for chimpanzee tracking, Lunch after returning from the forest then proceed to the ferry point where will cross the river Nile for an evening game drive and later on check into our hotel. Dinner and Night Paraa safari Lodge –Murchison River Lodge /Pakuba Lodge. Full Board
Day 10: Murchison – Murchison
After breakfast, you will have and enjoy a game drive to look for lions, giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes and many more. Lunch. In the afternoon embark on a boat cruise to the foot of the Falls. This boat trip along the Nile allows you to see the animals closely. And for the bird lovers, the bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the river banks. We will disembark at the bottom of the fall and hike to the top. We will have the opportunity of seeing the second falls, Uhuru which is only visible from the various view points during the guided walk. We will meet our driver at the top of the falls who will bring us back to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at Paraa safari Lodge – Murchison /Pakuba Lodge. Full Board
Day 11: Murchison – Kidepo
After breakfast, you will proceed northwards to Kidepo Valley National Park. This park is named after the river traversing this region at the border between Sudan and Kenya. This is one of the most conserved wild places remaining in Africa. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp/ UWA bandas. The bandas are modest but comfortable, with hot water and basic modern facilities. Mostly, the touch and immersion in the nature of the park is a guarantee. Full Board
Note: Today transfer is very long through the dirt roads of Karamoja; it is also possible to change the accommodation to Apoka Safari Lodge with a supplement.
Day 12: Kidepo – Kidepo
After breakfast, you will have a game drive in search for lions, giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes and many more. Lunch, in the afternoon, head out yet for another game drive thus increasing our chances of spotting the big cats like chitters, leopards, and lions among others including the biggest antelope Eland. And for the bird lovers, the bird life is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting all over the park. Dinner and overnight at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp/ UWA bandas.Full Board
Day 13: Kidepo – Lira
After breakfast, we will exit the park and drive through the beautiful karamoja ranges and enjoy the fast changing scenery, we will head out to the nearest community and learn about the karamoja culture, we will have a chance to share with the local people and also enter their manyatas and thereafter embark on our long drive to the city of Lira. We will have lunch en route.Dinner and overnight at Lillian Towers Hotel/ Brownstone Country Guest House.Full Board
Day 14: Lira – Sipi
After breakfast, we will drive through the Acholi land with a stopover at the archeological site of Nyeru Rock paintings near Kumi and thereafter proceed to our hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, we will trek through the Sipi Falls, characterized by three spectacular falls along river Sipi, flowing down the Mount Elgon. The area is particularly panoramic with view of the Karamoja valley. The activity will take you through the daily life of a typical African village. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge/Lacam Lodge. Full Board
Day 15: Sipi – Jinja
After breakfast, we will proceed to the city of Jinja driving through the sebei and Bugisu land while appreciating the beautiful ranges of Mt. Elgon. We will reach our hotel in Jinja in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will do a city tour and also visit the source of River Nile, the longest river in the world that traverses 3 countries i.e., Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan and Egypt thereafter pouring its waters into the Mediterranean Sea. At the source we will take a boat ride and visit point zero and also proceed to the Lake Victoria fishing activity while appreciating a variety of bird species like pelicans, African data, and African fish eagles among others. Day 16: Jinja – Entebe
After breakfast, leave for Entebbe through Kampala city where will do a brief city tour and learn about the culture of the Ugandan people, we will visit the kabala tombs where the kings of the Buganda kingdom are buried and thereafter head to Entebe airport for our departure flight (optional activity- Bungee Jumping and White water rafting on the River Nile)
